An unrepentant Republican, Williams was the showtime African American to take bearing government office in Ohio and the rootage man of every color to compile a bill of the African American and the African American soldier. He fought in the Civil conjure and the Mexican Revolution and travelled the length and breadth of the country, and the world, on the force of his personality and his oratorical skills. He was installed as parson to two of the roughly important African American congregations in the country and wrote the church history for one of them.
